A step-by-step guide to making your first level using the portals puzzle template!
1. Creating the Level:
- In your content browser, press right-click or press the Add button on the left.
- Now, under the “Create Basic Asset” category, click on “Level”.
- Give it a name and you have now created a new empty level.
2. Adding Lighting:
Unreal Engine 4 Steps:
- In your content browser, navigate to “Puzzle Template” > “Demo” and open the “PT_Demo_Start_Level”.
- In the map outliner, located in the top right, copy everything inside the “Lighting” folder. You can do it by selecting all of them one by one while holding shift, then press right-click, hover “Edit” and click on “Copy”.
- Open the level you created in the previous step, and in the outliner press right-click, hover “Edit” and press “Paste”.
Unreal Engine 5 Steps:
- Open the level you created in the previous step.
- Navigate to “Puzzle Template” > “Prefabs” > “Utilities”, right-click on “PT_Add_Lighting_EUB” and click on “Run Editor Utility Blueprint”.
